Toronto International Film Festival debuts Hong Kong Night

The 49th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has introduced a ‘Hong Kong Night’ for the first time, bringing together prominent figures from the Hong Kong film industry.

Among the featured works is the short film ‘Bloodline’, directed by actress Fala Chen, which has been selected for the competition unit. The film explores themes of immigrant identity through the story of Chinese immigrant siblings in the American West during the 1950s.

Additionally, the film ‘Good Men, Good Women’, directed by Yeung Leung and starring Golden Horse winner Chung Suet-ying, held its global premiere at the festival. The film uses a Hong Kong cha chaan teng as its backdrop to explore themes of loneliness and urban life.
