Toronto International Film Festival expands 2026 Special Presentations lineup

The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has added five new titles to its 2026 Special Presentations programme. The selections include the Zellner brothers’ sci‑fi thriller Alpha Gang, Rachel Morrison’s romance Love of Your Life, Bassam Tariq’s experimental drama Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother, Ben Shirinian’s The Housewife and Argentine‑Brazilian filmmaker Benjamín Naishtat’s Glaxo. Alpha Gang will have its International Premiere, while the other four films will debut as World Premieres at the festival, which runs from September 10‑20 in Toronto.

TIFF programming officer Anita Lee said the new slate reflects the festival’s aim to showcase bold, contemporary voices and to spark dialogue with audiences. The added films join a strong overall lineup for TIFF’s 51st edition, highlighting a mix of established talent and emerging directors.

Alpha Gang stars a large ensemble including Chris Pine, Riley Keough, Lily‑Rose Depp and Cate Blanchett, while Love of Your Life follows Margaret Qualley’s character Maya in a sweeping romance that shifts her future dramatically.
