Toronto International Film Festival features new premieres and critical reviews

Several new films have debuted or received critical attention at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

Zack Snyder’s thriller, ‘The Last Photograph’, has received harsh initial reactions from critics, with some describing the film as ‘absolutely abysmal’ and ‘downright awful’. The story follows a retired DEA agent searching for his missing relatives in a South American jungle.

Other notable premieres include ‘I Play Rocky’, a film directed by Peter Farrelly that chronicles the early struggles of Sylvester Stallone as he developed the script for ‘Rocky’. The film features Anthony Ippolito in the lead role.

Additional film reviews covered ‘The Surgeon’, a medical thriller starring Michelle Yeoh, ‘Smudge the Blades’, an Indigenous-focused hockey drama, and ‘Father Joe’, a violent action film set in 1990s New York starring Kiefer Sutherland and Al Pacino.
