Toronto International Film Festival launches new film market

The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is launching its first-ever dedicated film market, ‘TIFF: The Market’, running from September 10 to 16. Supported by a C$23 million investment from the Government of Canada and Telefilm Canada, the initiative aims to strengthen TIFF’s position as a global leader in the entertainment industry by facilitating the buying and selling of intellectual property and screen-based projects.

A delegation from the Alliance des producteurs francophones du Canada (APFC) will participate in the inaugural market. This group includes 17 production companies—nine from Canada and eight from France—seeking to foster international coproductions and expand the reach of Francophone content. The market is designed to provide the global sales community with improved access to screening facilities and face-to-face networking opportunities.
