Fairfax Financial and Fairfax India Post Q2 2026 Earnings

Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited reported net earnings of $1.392 billion for the second quarter of 2026, down from $1.437 billion a year earlier. The company’s book value per basic share rose to $1,304.39, a 4.8% increase adjusted for dividends. Its property‑and‑casualty insurance and reinsurance operations generated adjusted operating income of $1.105 billion, with a consolidated combined ratio of 93.1% and undiscounted underwriting profit of $458.6 million. Gross premiums written grew 4.1% year‑over‑year.

Fairfax India Holdings Corporation posted net earnings of $227.9 million for the same quarter, compared with $278.1 million in Q2 2025. Book value per share increased 8.7% to $20.74. The earnings were driven by unrealized gains on public common‑stock investments of $162.9 million and total investment gains of $266.1 million, including gains in IIFL Capital, IIFL Finance, Fairchem Organics and other holdings. Chief Executive Officer Gopalakrishnan Soundarajan said the company expects its public‑stock positions to perform well over the long term.
