Toronto Pearson Airport cat found after two weeks missing

A Montreal woman has been reunited with her cat, Caramel, after the animal spent more than two weeks loose at Toronto Pearson International Airport. The cat was one of four traveling from Jordan to Montreal on August 17, but was discovered missing upon arrival at Montreal’s Pierre Trudeau Airport.

Airport officials reported that Caramel had been seen in the cargo hold during a stop at Toronto Pearson before escaping onto the airport ramp near Terminal 3. Following a social media plea from the owner, Abir Batikhi, the cat was located Wednesday night in a cargo facility. An airport worker provided information regarding the cat’s last known location, which allowed the wildlife team to successfully capture the animal. Caramel is expected to be returned to Montreal following her recovery.
