Abdul Ghafoori arrested in Toronto for murder of Indian-origin partner
Toronto police have arrested 32-year-old Abdul Ghafoori in connection with the murder of his partner, 30-year-old Himanshi Khurana. Ghafoori was apprehended at a Toronto airport following a seven-month manhunt.
Khurana, an Indian national, was found dead inside a residence in the Strachan Avenue and Wellington Street West area on December 20, 2025, after a missing person report was filed. Investigators classified the death as an act of intimate partner violence.
Ghafoori faces a charge of first-degree murder. Toronto’s fugitive squad and homicide unit coordinated with national and international law enforcement agencies to facilitate his return to Canada.
