Toronto police seek man for unprovoked stabbing at Yonge and Bloor

Toronto police are searching for 36-year-old Anthony Christopher David McLaughlin following an unprovoked daylight stabbing at the busy Yonge and Bloor intersection. The incident occurred around 8 a.m. on a Friday when a man walking alone on the sidewalk was approached from behind and stabbed.

The victim sustained serious injuries but is expected to survive. McLaughlin, who is wanted for assault causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon, is described as having extensive tattoos covering his face and neck, including a large cross on his forehead. He was last seen wearing a ‘We The North’ baseball cap.

The attack follows another violent incident nearby, where a police officer was shot during an e-bike theft arrest. Public safety and crime remain central issues in the upcoming Toronto municipal election scheduled for October 26.
