Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat open NBA preseason in Quebec City

The 2026–27 NBA preseason begins this Saturday in Quebec City, as the Miami Heat face the Toronto Raptors as part of the league’s Canada Games series. The matchup features several high-profile players making debuts for new teams.

Toronto Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic described Kawhi Leonard’s status as “day-to-day” ahead of the game. While Leonard has participated in light drills, he has not yet engaged in full-contact practice, making his appearance against the Heat uncertain.

The preseason will also showcase Giannis Antetokounmpo in his debut for the Miami Heat. Other notable player movements heading into the new season include LeBron James and Jaylen Brown joining the Philadelphia 76ers.
