Toronto Raptors to retire Kyle Lowry’s No. 7 jersey

The Toronto Raptors have announced they will retire Kyle Lowry’s No. 7 jersey on January 10. The ceremony will take place at Scotiabank Arena following a post-game matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Lowry, who played nine seasons with the franchise from 2012 to 2021, was a key figure in the team’s 2019 NBA championship. He is the organization’s all-time leader in assists, steals, three-pointers, and triple-doubles. His jersey will become the second in franchise history to be retired, joining Vince Carter’s No. 15.

Following his retirement from the NBA after 20 seasons, Lowry signed a one-day contract to retire as a Raptor. The team has also teased a potential themed logo on social media to commemorate his legacy.
