Toronto Raptors to retire Kyle Lowry’s No. 7 jersey

The Toronto Raptors have announced they will retire Kyle Lowry’s No. 7 jersey. The ceremony is scheduled for January 10 at Scotiabank Arena, following a game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Lowry becomes only the second player in franchise history to have his number retired, joining Hall of Famer Vince Carter, whose No. 15 was retired in November 2024. The 40-year-old point guard officially retired from the NBA on July 7, choosing the symbolic 7/7 date and signing a one-day contract with Toronto to conclude his 20-year career as a Raptor.

During his nine seasons in Toronto, Lowry was a central figure in the team’s transformation, leading them to an NBA championship in 2019. He was a six-time All-Star with the team and holds several franchise records, including most career assists, steals, and three-pointers made.
