Toronto Tempo signs Kayla Alexander as team struggles with turnovers in loss to Atlanta Dream

Toronto's WNBA franchise, the Tempo, added centre Kayla Alexander on a second seven‑day hardship contract. The 35‑year‑old, returning after a six‑year hiatus, is averaging 1.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 0.5 assists in two games and joins a roster depleted by injuries to Brittney Sykes, Kiki Rice and Temi Fagbenle.

The following day the Tempo fell 111‑92 to the Atlanta Dream at the Coca‑Cola Coliseum. Toronto committed 20 turnovers, which the Dream turned into 29 points, and the team trailed 48‑47 at halftime before slipping further in the third quarter. Head coach Sandy Brondello criticised both the officiating and her players, noting the need to stay less emotional and improve ball security. Marina Mabrey led Toronto with a game‑high 26 points.
