Toronto transit services face major weekend adjustments
Major transit service adjustments are scheduled for Toronto this weekend, affecting the TTC subway and GO Transit lines.
On the TTC, Line 1 Yonge-University will have no service between Finch and Sheppard-Yonge stations from 11:59 p.m. on Friday, September 25, through the end of service on Sunday, September 27, due to planned signal work. Shuttle buses will replace the subway during this period.
GO Transit is also implementing changes due to construction. The Lakeshore East Line will see no service between Rouge Hill and Danforth GO on September 26 and 27. During this time, trains will run between Durham College Oshawa and Ajax on an hourly basis, with GO buses providing service between Ajax and Pickering GO before heading to Union Station.
Additionally, the Stouffville Line will have no train service on September 26 and 27, with buses replacing trains. These buses will stop at all locations from Old Elm to Unionville GO before running directly to Union Station. Commuters are advised to plan for extra travel time due to high demand from local concerts and festivals.
