Toronto woman dies after being struck by vehicle

A 37-year-old woman has died following a vehicle collision in north Toronto. According to the Toronto Police Service, the incident occurred at approximately 5:12 p.m. on Friday at the intersection of Bathurst Street and Lonsmount Drive.

Police report that a vehicle traveling northbound on Bathurst Street lost control and mounted a curb, striking the woman as she was walking southbound on the east sidewalk. The victim was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries but later succumbed to them.

An 18-year-old man has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death. The driver remained at the scene following the collision. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on October 30.
