Toronto's August 2026 Music Festival Season Highlights
Toronto will host a month‑long series of music festivals in August 2026, covering genres from classical and EDM to hip‑hop, folk, K‑pop and Caribbean styles. The Toronto Summer Music Festival will present chamber, orchestral and opera concerts at venues such as Walter Hall, while the VELD Music Festival will bring international DJs to Downsview Park for three days of electronic dance music. The city’s Caribbean Carnival (Caribana) will draw over a million visitors with its Grand Parade, masquerade costumes and live soca, and the free Island Soul waterfront event will celebrate Caribbean culture over the August long weekend.
The Toronto Summer Music Festival also featured a performance by the Miró Quartet, marking the ensemble’s 30th anniversary, and highlighted its tuition‑free academy supported by more than $90,000 in donor matching funds. The festival’s community program offers advanced amateur musicians coaching from world‑class professionals.
