Toroslar village house fire extinguished by Mersin firefighters
A fire broke out in a detached village house in the Güzelyayla neighborhood of the Toroslar district in Mersin. The fire, which started for unknown reasons, produced heavy smoke and large flames, causing brief panic among local residents.
The structure, an old village house, produced intense smoke and flames because its lower section was being used as a stable and a wood storage area. Firefighting teams from the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department were dispatched to the scene and worked to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings and residential areas.
The Mersin Fire Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) monitored the response in real-time via radio. Fuat Tuğluoğlu, the Deputy Head of the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department, personally followed the incident.
While a resident inside the house was not affected by smoke, they experienced high blood pressure and was examined by medical teams. The fire caused material damage to the house but was fully extinguished after cooling efforts.
