Torre del Greco community petitions to halt priest transfer

Parishioners of Santa Maria del Carmine in Torre del Greco have formally petitioned Cardinal Domenico Battaglia, the Archbishop of Naples, to revoke or suspend the immediate transfer of their priest, Don Mario Pasqua.

The community expressed concern over the sudden nature of the transfer, noting that Pasqua has led the parish for 25 years. Through a formal PEC communication, the faithful requested a period of transition or accompaniment between Don Pasqua and his successor to protect the spiritual and social work established during his tenure.

Local associations, including Progetto 081 and Marittimi per il Futuro, are supporting a petition drive to voice the community's desire for continuity in their pastoral leadership.
