Torre del Greco launches social welfare and legal guardian initiatives

The municipality of Torre del Greco has launched two social welfare initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable residents.

First, the administration is establishing a registry of professionals to serve as legal guardians and support administrators. This registry seeks qualified individuals, including lawyers, accountants, and other experts with experience in legal, patrimonial, and social assistance matters, to assist people lacking full autonomy. The initiative aims to provide better protection for fragile citizens by facilitating the appointment of competent professionals.

Second, the city has opened a call for local businesses to participate in a shopping voucher program. Commercial establishments selling essential goods—such as food, hygiene products, and infant supplies—can apply to accept vouchers intended for families identified by social services. Participating businesses must have an operational site in Torre del Greco. The program is designed to assist families facing economic hardship, with vouchers redeemable via health cards through January 2027.
