Torre del Greco to host Dragon Boat trophy event

The Trofeo Città Torre del Greco, a five-day event dedicated to Dragon Boat racing, maritime culture, and youth engagement, is scheduled to take place from October 27 to 31. The program includes activities for participating schools from October 27 to 30, culminating in a Dragon Boat regatta on Saturday, October 31.

The regatta will include sports clubs from central and southern Italy, specifically from the Lazio, Campania, and Puglia regions. The closing ceremony will feature the presentation of several awards, including the Trofeo Città Torre del Greco, the Davide Tizzano Trophy, and the Sirene di Ulisse Trophy, which is dedicated to female participants.

Valentina Ascione, the Sports Delegate for the Municipality of Torre del Greco, noted that the event aims to promote sports among young people and highlight the local maritime tradition. The project also serves as a tribute to Olympic athlete Davide Tizzano, who passed away in December 2025.
