Torrejón de Ardoz implements advanced technology for public security
Torrejón de Ardoz has implemented an advanced security model centered on its Municipal Local Police Coordination Center. The facility utilizes high-definition videovigilance, including 389 cameras and 360-degree vision systems, to monitor traffic and public safety in real time.
Key technological features include the geolocalization of all police personnel and vehicles, allowing for seamless information sharing with the National Police, Guardia Civil, firefighters, and civil protection services. The local police also utilize body cameras connected to the control center, drones, and specialized equipment such as TASER 7 and 10 non-lethal control devices.
Additional security measures include vehicle license plate recognition for stolen or suspicious cars, mobile terminals for victims of gender violence, and a specialized Canine Unit trained in drug and narcotic detection. The municipality's technological advancements were recently showcased during a training session for sub-inspectors in collaboration with the Institute of Integral Training in Security and Emergencies (IFISE).
