Torrejoncillo and Torrox unveil new cultural art projects

Artist Jesús María Santos, known as Yango Diversso, will exhibit a series of paintings at the Casa de la Cultura in Torrejoncillo from 1 to 15 August. The show features a personal reinterpretation of Velázquez’s *Meninas* dressed in the traditional costume of the town, created with watercolor and touches of acrylic, and is presented as a tribute to the artist’s hometown.

In Torrox, the municipal council inaugurated a large‑scale mural by the Sevillian street‑artist Fabián Bravo Guerrero, alias Kato. The 12 × 5 metre work, painted in grayscale spray, commemorates the town’s historic sugar‑cane industry and will be complemented by a forthcoming sculpture of a cane cutter as part of a broader urban‑renewal effort.
