Torreón Municipality Offers Up to 70% Discount on Property Taxes

The municipal administration of Torreón, Coahuila, announced that residents have until July 31 to take advantage of a tax‑stimulus program approved by the city council. The scheme provides discounts of up to 70 percent on the property (predial) tax, pavement tax, public‑cleaning fees and related fines for eligible dwellings. Homeowners in ejido areas with a cadastral value not exceeding 700,000 pesos, as well as those in designated popular colonies up to 750,000 pesos, qualify for the 70 percent reduction; properties valued between 750,000 and 1.5 million pesos receive a 50 percent discount. Revenue collected is earmarked for public works and service improvements. Payments can be made in person at the municipal treasury or online through the official portal. Revenue director Roberto Barrios Hinojosa explained the program’s details.
