Torreón officials detained in federal money laundering probe

A federal investigation in Torreón, Coahuila, involving alleged money laundering and organized crime has led to the detention of several former municipal officials. The investigation, identified as criminal case 333/2026, targets individuals including former municipal secretary José Elías “N”, Martha “N”, José Feliciano “N”, Georgina “N”, and Farid Alí “N”.

Deputy Antonio Attolini Murra has called for state authorities to expand their inquiries to include former directors of the Municipal System of Water and Sanitation (SIMAS) and other municipal officials. Attolini Murra argued that the alleged diversion of 66 million pesos likely required a network of complicity within the political structure rather than being an isolated act.

Following recent raids and arrests in Torreón and Parras de la Fuente, a police aircraft (XC-LNT) was tracked departing the Torreón International Airport toward central Mexico. While the Federal Attorney General's Office (FGR) has not confirmed if the detainees were transferred via this flight, the movement coincides with the deployment of the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) to take custody of those involved.
