Torreón reports medical emergencies involving pyrotechnics and sudden death

Two separate medical emergencies were reported in Torreón, Coahuila.

A 26-year-old woman sustained first-degree burns to her face and scalp during a gender reveal party at an event hall in the Mayrán neighborhood. The incident occurred on a Saturday night involving pyrotechnics. Although a Red Cross ambulance was dispatched to the scene, the victim's family chose to transport her to a hospital via a private vehicle.

In a separate incident, a 56-year-old woman, identified as María Guadalupe Favela Cruz, died suddenly while arriving at a shopping center on Avenida Hidalgo. The woman collapsed in front of her daughter and grandson. Emergency responders from the Red Cross arrived at the scene, but paramedics confirmed she had no vital signs. Local police and the Criminal Investigation Agency were notified, and while preliminary reports suggest natural causes, authorities are working to determine the exact circumstances of her death.
