Torreón traffic authorities urge respect for disability access spaces
The Torreón Traffic and Roadways Department has issued an urgent appeal to motorists to respect parking spaces, ramps, sidewalks, and pedestrian crossings designated for people with disabilities.
Martha Alicia Faz Dávila, director of the department, emphasized that maintaining these areas is essential for the safe, comfortable, and autonomous movement of individuals with permanent or temporary mobility impairments. Authorities stressed that obstructing these zones with vehicles hinders access for those using wheelchairs or walkers and undermines inclusive urban mobility.
Faz Dávila noted that adhering to these regulations is not merely a legal obligation but a demonstration of social empathy and community commitment.
