Torrential rains trigger emergency responses in Spain and Mexico

Severe torrential rains have caused significant disruption and damage in several regions. In Madrigueras, Spain, heavy rainfall on October 2 recorded approximately 142 liters per square meter, resulting in a flood that damaged homes, vehicles, and public facilities. Emergency services conducted nearly 90 rescues, and one elderly resident tragically lost her life. The La Roda City Council, supported by the company Aqualia, has deployed personnel, street sweepers, and hydro-cleaning equipment to assist in cleaning mud and debris from the affected area.

In Aroche, intense rainfall and electrical storms prompted the activation of the Municipal Emergency Plan. Local authorities reported blocked sewers and leaks in municipal buildings, including an adult education center. While the storm caused significant accumulation of mud, stones, and debris, no personal injuries have been reported in Aroche thus far.
