Torres del Paine announces trail closures and new seasonal offerings
Torres del Paine National Park in Chile is seeing significant changes to visitor access and local hospitality for the upcoming season. The Chilean forestry authority, CONAF, has announced that the Macizo-Paine circuit, also known as the O-Circuit, will remain closed until October 31, 2026. Any reopening prior to this date will depend on further assessments of weather and safety conditions. While the O-Circuit is closed, parts of the W-Trek and the path to Base Torres remain accessible, though authorities advise hikers to prepare for winter conditions using trekking poles and microspikes.
In the hospitality sector, Hotel Las Torres is launching its 2026-2027 season with several new offerings. The hotel plans to open El Galpón, a new 2,300 m² restaurant designed to reflect Patagonian ranch traditions, featuring an open kitchen and one of the southernmost wine tasting rooms in the world. Additionally, the hotel is introducing new guided excursions, including “El Reino del Puma,” a specialized tour focused on observing pumas in their natural habitat using UTVs and expert trackers.
