Torres Municipality clears vegetation on Panamericana Highway

Maintenance crews from the Torres Municipality administration conducted vegetation clearing along the margins of the Panamericana Highway on Tuesday, August 25. This action follows community pressure after a seven-hour road blockade on August 18, which led the Lara State Government to sign a commitment to deploy heavy machinery for repaving the section connecting to Trujillo state.

Despite the clearing of vegetation, residents and drivers remain skeptical. Approximately 50 kilometers of the roadway suffer from severe damage, posing risks to travelers and increasing logistics costs for the agricultural and productive sectors. As of the latest reports, the regional executive has not confirmed the dispatch of the promised paving machinery.
