Torres Novas completes new Cardilium Family Health Unit

Construction of the new Cardilium Family Health Unit (USF) in Torres Novas has been completed. Following a 270-day extension, the project is physically and financially finished, with delivery to the Médio Tejo Local Health Unit (ULS) expected in October.

The facility, located on Avenida Xanana Gusmão near the Rainha Santa Isabel Hospital, underwent provisional reception on August 24. While the building is complete, technical works regarding infrastructure and IT networks are still underway to ensure the services are fully operational.

The project was awarded in 2024 for 1.948 million euros. The delay in completion was attributed to adverse weather conditions, including Storm Kristin, labor shortages, material supply delays, and the need for complementary works. The total participation contract is valued at approximately 2.27 million euros.
