Torrevieja awards €3 million street lighting contract

The Torrevieja Town Council has awarded a four-year contract for the maintenance of public lighting to Sociedad Ibérica de Construcciones Eléctricas (SICE). The total value of the contract is €3,022,515.72, including VAT, which averages approximately €755,628.93 annually.

The service will cover the entire municipality, including roads, public green spaces, decorative lighting for municipal buildings, and illumination for monuments and signs. The contract also includes provisions for the eventual incorporation of 1,083 lights in the Sector 20-La Hoya area once it is formally received by the council.

SICE is required to provide a 24-hour emergency service with a maximum response time of one hour. The maintenance program involves regular inspections, cleaning, and safety checks, including night-time checks of all lights three times per week. The contractor must maintain a minimum staff of 11 people and a specialized fleet, including platform lorries and a crane truck.
