Torrevieja closes Youth Centre following ceiling collapse

The Torrevieja City Council has announced the temporary closure of the Youth Information and Activity Centre (CIAJ) located on Paseo Juan Aparicio following a partial collapse of a suspended ceiling. The closure was implemented as a safety precaution to protect municipal employees and visitors.

Youth advice and information services have been relocated to the Municipal Multi-Purpose Building on Avenida de las Habaneras. This temporary reception point will be situated near the main entrance to ensure accessibility. The relocation also brings these services together with the existing Youth Leisure Centre.

Additionally, an employment workshop previously held at the CIAJ has been moved to the Local Development Agency (ADL) to ensure training activities continue without interruption. The incident has also forced the suspension of a planned refurbishment project at the CIAJ facility, which cannot proceed until the building's owners' association addresses the structural issues.
