Torrevieja to host 2027 World Medical Football Championship

Torrevieja has been selected to host the 2027 World Medical Football Championship (WMFC). The event is scheduled to take place from September 25 to October 2, 2027, at the Ciudad Deportiva.

This marks the first time the international championship will be held in Spain. The tournament is expected to bring together 60 teams representing 40 different countries, consisting exclusively of medical professionals from various specialties. The competition will feature four parallel tournaments.

Organizers estimate the event will have an economic impact of between 1.5 and 2 million euros. Local officials noted that the selection follows the city's experience hosting the Spanish Medical Football Championship in 2025.
