Torricella Launches Second Annual Premio Jorche Investigative Journalism Award

The municipality of Torricella hosted the second edition of the literary competition “Inchieste al Castello – Premio Jorche” on Saturday, 1 August, at Castello Muscettola. The award, promoted by the town administration under Mayor Francesco Turco and supported by Antica Masseria Jorche, aims to promote investigative journalism, true‑crime writing and civic engagement.

The jury, chaired by writer‑journalist Mauro Valentini and including Annamaria Pastorelli, Laura Maria Caraccio, journalist Nazareno Dinoi and reader Fortunata Barilaro, selected three finalists: “La riparatrice” by Paola Iannelli, “Omicidio al monastero” by Marina Tognotti and “Ho ucciso i miei genitori” by Gianni Spoletti. A special prize was also awarded to “Online!” by Luca Volpe. The mayor highlighted the event’s role in fostering a culture of free information and collective growth.

The ceremony underscored Torricella’s commitment to cultural initiatives that combine literary quality with civic responsibility.
