Torrijos municipal pool renovated to prevent water loss

The Diputación de Toledo has completed the rehabilitation of the municipal summer pool in Torrijos, addressing long-standing structural issues and significant water loss. The project involved renewing the main pool basin to improve efficiency, sustainability, and usage conditions.

For nine years, the 30-year-old facility suffered from leaks that resulted in the loss of approximately 20 million liters of water per season, leading to high economic costs and increased chemical treatment needs.

The renovation was funded by a contribution of approximately 340,000 euros from the Diputación de Toledo—comprising 140,000 euros from the 2025 Provincial Plan and 200,000 euros from the 2025 Extraordinary Investment Plan—and roughly 30,000 euros from the Torrijos City Council.
