Torsten Sträter refuses to use health struggles as comedy material

German comedian Torsten Sträter has revealed that he does not intend to use his recent health struggles as subject matter for his upcoming stage program. After being forced to cancel performances earlier this year due to a tumor diagnosis, the 59-year-old performer stated that he wishes to remain entertaining rather than focusing on a ‘tumor story,’ noting that many people in his audience have faced similar fears and pains.

Sträter also shared details regarding his physical health, noting a significant weight loss of approximately 25 kilograms. This change was driven by a diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes, which led him to completely eliminate sugar from his diet. He expressed a desire to regain weight, aiming to reach 85 kilograms, as his restrictive eating habits have left him underweight. Despite these challenges, Sträter has returned to the stage and is scheduled to begin a new tour in September.
