Tortona bar ordered to close for 20 days following criminal investigations

A bar in the center of Tortona has been ordered to close for 20 days following a license suspension issued by the Questore of Alessandria. The administrative measure was notified to the owner by the Carabinieri and State Police.

The decision follows numerous emergency calls to 112 since the beginning of the year regarding degradation, illegal activities, and disturbances to public order and peace in and around the establishment.

Investigations into a serious assault that occurred in April revealed a pattern of criminal activity, including personal injury, an attempted extortion, and drug dealing. During that incident, a victim was struck in the face by an individual sent to intimidate them and demand money. Authorities were able to identify and charge two suspects through the analysis of local video surveillance and photographic recognition.
