Tortosa launches commerce incentives and heritage tourism initiatives

The city of Tortosa is implementing several initiatives to boost local economy and tourism. The municipal government has announced the return of the ‘Bons Tortosa’ campaign, starting October 2 and running through October 31. With a budget of 200,000 euros, the program will distribute 34,000 vouchers to encourage spending in local commerce, dining, and services. Mayor Mar Lleixà noted that while the campaign requires significant investment, it generates a substantial return for the city by directly impacting local businesses.

In conjunction with World Tourism Day, the city also highlighted its recovered heritage sites. Recent promotional activities saw high interest in the Fortí de Bonet and the city walls walkway. Other sites included in the city's heritage program include the Tortosa Cathedral, the cellars of the Castell de la Suda, and air-raid shelter number 4. The city is working to make these historical landmarks more accessible to the public to share the local history.
