Toruń ends cooperation with Polsat for New Year's Eve concerts
The city of Toruń has decided to end its cooperation with the television station Polsat regarding the organization of outdoor New Year's Eve concerts. Following the success of the “Sylwestrowa Moc Przebojów” event, which was held in the Old Town Market Square in 2024 and 2025, local authorities and the Kujawsko-Pomorskie regional government have agreed to move in a different direction.
Marcin Centkowski, spokesperson for the Mayor of Toruń, confirmed that no multi-year agreement was in place and that this marks the conclusion of their partnership. Instead, the city intends to focus its resources on supporting the international film festival Camerimage, which will henceforth operate under the name “Toruń Camerimage” to strengthen the city's global brand.
Polsat previously held its New Year's Eve celebrations in Silesia before moving to Toruń. While the station's recent broadcasts attracted approximately 2.32 million viewers, the city's shift toward film festival branding leaves the future location of Polsat's annual spectacle unconfirmed.
