Toshiba implements logistics automation system at Honda facility

Toshiba has implemented a Goods to Person (GTP) logistics automation system at Honda’s Suzuka Logistics Center. The system, known as the MIX GTP system, utilizes automated guided vehicles (AGVs) to transport parts from storage shelves directly to workers, aiming to improve efficiency and reduce physical labor in automotive spare parts distribution.

Designed to address challenges posed by a shrinking labor force, the system enables high-density storage and has achieved an average output capacity of 200 lines per hour per worker. The solution was developed by Toshiba in collaboration with Honda, utilizing technology from Mushiny to optimize lot management and workstation ergonomics.
