Tosya truck fire suppressed by concrete mixer driver

A truck fire broke out on the D100 highway in the Yazıçam area of Tosya, Kastamonu, after a Volvo truck experienced a mechanical failure. The driver, Hikmet Yıldız, had pulled the vehicle into a roadside rest area to inspect the malfunction when smoke and flames began rising from the cab.

Abdülkadir Alışkan, a driver for Öztürkler Beton traveling in the opposite direction, noticed the fire and diverted his route to assist. Using the water tank and hose from his concrete mixer, Alışkan managed to suppress the flames and prevent the fire from spreading until fire department crews arrived to fully extinguish the blaze.

While the truck sustained material damage, no injuries were reported. The incident caused traffic congestion on the D100 highway, and authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
