Universal Pictures announced it would pursue legal action against the piracy, stating that the studio has “taken all appropriate steps” to protect its intellectual‑property rights. Despite the leak, the film’s box‑office performance remained strong, earning £450 million worldwide in its first two weekends against a production budget of £187 million.

The cast includes Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson and Zendaya, among others. The leak was reported by German outlets from Munich, but the ramifications affect the film’s global distributor, Universal Pictures.
