TotalEnergies and KKR expand U.S. solar venture by 700 MW

TotalEnergies and KKR are expanding their United States solar joint venture by adding a 700-megawatt portfolio. The transaction, valued at $1.2 billion in enterprise value, includes three utility-scale solar assets located in Texas and Ohio. These projects are expected to reach commercial operation by the first quarter of 2027, with TotalEnergies continuing as the operator.

In Illinois, Arevon Energy has secured three 20-year renewable energy credit agreements with Ameren Illinois, ComEd, and MidAmerican Energy for its 200 MWac Panther Energy Project. Scheduled to begin construction in 2027, the facility is expected to power approximately 37,000 homes. Additionally, ComEd and Richardson Electronics are collaborating on a 5 MWh commercial battery energy storage system demonstration project in La Fox, Illinois.
