TotalEnergies and Velian to expand EV charging in South Holland

TotalEnergies (Public Charging) and Velian have won the contract to install thousands of new public electric vehicle charging stations across 43 municipalities in South Holland and Zeeland, including Rotterdam.

The new concession aims to make charging more affordable, as the rates for these new stations will be among the lowest for public charging in the Netherlands. Existing stations being taken over will also adopt these new prices, though rates may fluctuate based on energy market developments, taxes, or grid management costs.

To increase transparency, all new charging stations will feature digital screens. These screens will display pricing information before, during, and after a charging session, allowing users to determine costs in advance. Additionally, the stations will support ad-hoc payments, enabling users to pay directly without a specific charging pass.
