TotalEnergies targets 4% annual energy production growth and higher dividends through 2030

TotalEnergies has unveiled its 2026 Strategy and Outlook, outlining ambitious growth targets for its multi-energy portfolio through 2035. The company aims to increase its overall energy production by 4% annually until 2030, driven by a significant expansion in electricity generation, which is expected to grow by over 20% annually to reach 100–120 TWh per year by 2030. Electricity is projected to constitute 20% of the company's energy mix by 2030 and 25% by 2035.

In the oil and gas sector, TotalEnergies targets annual production growth of more than 3% between 2025 and 2030, with a secondary growth target of 2–3% annually from 2030 to 2035. The company intends to maintain a production plateau of approximately 3 million barrels of oil equivalent per day through 2035, supported by projects in Namibia, Nigeria, Libya, Malaysia, Mozambique, and Papua New Guinea.

To reward shareholders, the board has approved a new dividend policy aiming for an annual increase of more than 5% from 2026 to 2030. Additionally, the company has authorized significant share buybacks, including 2.5 billion dollars for Q4 2026 and between 2 and 2.5 billion dollars for Q1 2027. TotalEnergies expects to return at least 40% of its cash flow to shareholders while maintaining a gearing ratio below 10% by the end of 2026. The company also plans annual net investments of 14 to 17 billion dollars between 2027 and 2032.
