Tottenham faces injury setbacks ahead of Liverpool clash

Tottenham Hotspur faces significant injury challenges ahead of their Carabao Cup third-round match against Liverpool at Anfield. Head coach Roberto De Zerbi confirmed that summer signing Sandro Tonali will miss the fixture due to a knock.

Defenders Pedro Porro and Dejan Kulusevski are also unavailable. Porro continues to deal with a minor muscle injury, while Kulusevski remains sidelined with a serious knee issue sustained at the end of the 2024-25 season. On a positive note, Destiny Udogie has recovered and is available for selection after being rested recently to manage his workload.

Following a previous season plagued by physical issues, Tottenham has overhauled its medical department. Under the supervision of performance director Dan Lewindon, the club has introduced new specialists to improve injury prevention and player management, which includes more strictly regulated playing minutes for key squad members.
