Tottenham Hotspur considering further contract extension for Ben Davies

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing to hold new contract discussions with veteran defender Ben Davies. Although the 33-year-old Welsh international recently signed a one-year extension that keeps him at the club until the end of next season, senior figures at the North London club are looking to potentially revisit his situation.

Club officials are expected to discuss a further 12-month extension in the coming months, which could secure Davies’ future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until June 2028. The move would follow his recent performances, including scoring in both of his competitive appearances this season, most recently against Coventry City.

Davies is currently the club’s longest-serving player, having joined from Swansea City in July 2014. With over 360 appearances for the club, he recently surpassed Jermain Defoe to enter the top 25 appearance makers in Tottenham history. Head coach Roberto De Zerbi is said to value the defender’s leadership and experience as the team seeks to improve its Premier League standing.
