Tottenham Hotspur eye forward Cody Gakpo and Folarin Balogun to boost attack

Tottenham Hotspur, under manager Roberto de Zerbi, are actively pursuing two forwards to strengthen their frontline. The club has held talks with Liverpool striker Cody Gakpo, a Dutch international who scored seven goals and provided five assists in the 2025‑26 Premier League season. Gakpo is valued at roughly £51 million, with a contract running to 2030, but Liverpool have indicated they are not prepared to sell to a Premier League rival without a substantial offer.

In parallel, Tottenham have received a direct proposal for United States international Folarin Balogun, who currently plays for Monaco. Balogun, a former Arsenal academy product, scored 19 league goals for Monaco last season and is reportedly available for a competitive fee. Monaco would allow a departure, and Arsenal would be entitled to a 17.5 % sell‑on clause from any future transfer. Both targets are seen as options to complement existing strikers Dominic Solanke and Richarlison as De Zerbi reshapes the Spurs attack.
