Tottenham Hotspur faces home form struggles amid stadium revenue focus

Tottenham Hotspur is facing challenges regarding its home form and stadium utilization. On the pitch, the club has struggled at its new stadium, suffering two home defeats in its first three matches of the season against Newcastle United and Aston Villa. Despite having a more settled squad under manager Roberto De Zerbi, the team has lost 22 league games at home since the start of the 2024/25 period.

Off the pitch, the club utilizes its state-of-the-art stadium to generate significant non-football revenue through NFL games, concerts, and boxing. To facilitate this, the venue employs a retractable pitch system. The natural grass surface can be moved underneath the stands to protect it, allowing an artificial surface to be used for other events. This multi-use capability is a key part of the club's financial strategy to comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
