Tottenham Hotspur faces scrutiny amid poor start under De Zerbi

Tottenham Hotspur is facing a difficult start to the Premier League season under manager Roberto De Zerbi. After four matches, the club sits in 17th place with only two points and has yet to score a single league goal despite significant summer investment totaling over £300 million.

De Zerbi has faced scrutiny regarding his management style and player relations. He has been criticized for his treatment of young forward Mathys Tel and for a reported conflict with Richarlison, who has been sidelined from the squad. To combat a perceived mental block and a goalscoring drought, De Zerbi has implemented morale-boosting measures, including a team dinner at a Mayfair restaurant and jokingly suggesting players review individual performance clips as 'homework.'

On the player fitness front, De Zerbi confirmed that Mohammed Kudus is physically improving and may be ready to start for both Tottenham and Ghana in upcoming AFCON qualifiers. However, other players including Mateus Fernandez and Connor Gallagher are still working toward full fitness.
