Tottenham Hotspur pursues Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke and midfielder Carlos Baleba
Tottenham Hotspur is preparing a third bid for Brighton centre‑back Jan Paul van Hecke, who has already agreed personal terms with the North London club and is waiting for an agreement between Brighton and Tottenham. Journalist Ben Jacobs noted, “Spurs intend to place a third bid for Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke.”
The Spurs are also targeting Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba. Former scout Mick Brown said, “Tottenham could be tempted to make a move… De Zerbi has worked with him before and might feel he can get the best out of him.” Baleba, whose previous £100 million price tag was deemed unrealistic, is reportedly keen to leave, and Tottenham’s link with manager Roberto De Zerbi may give the club an advantage in negotiations.
